Inclement Weather Notice

11/5/2009 - Parents may remember that last spring Roseburg Public Schools was required to reduce its operating budget for the 2009-10 school year by $4 million due to a state-wide financial crisis. One area of reduction was in the AllCall automated calling system. This system was utilized for the past two years to notify families in the event of a school delay or cancellation due to inclement weather or icy road conditions.

As the result of this reduction to the AllCall system, it will be necessary for Roseburg schools to rely on the FlashAlert system to notify families of delays or cancellations due to inclement weather or dangerous road conditions. The FlashAlert system allows the school district to send current information regarding the status of school start times to several local news media outlets. Click on the the Emergency Info link in the left hand column of the screen under Quick Links.  As in past years, families are encouraged to listen to their local television or radio stations, or to check the school district website for news about school start times or cancellations.  This information will be posted by 5:30 AM each morning when weather or road conditions are an issue.

Student Accident Insurance

In accordance with Board Policy JHA, insurance coverage (either private or school) is mandatory for those students engaged in athletics. The cost of school insurance is the responsibility of the family. Click here to enroll in Student Insurance.
